Simply flick the thumb stud (just as you would begin to open a manual AXIS® knife) and let the AXIS®-Assist take over as its strong coil spring snaps the blade into its fully open position. The Barrage’s tough, 2.91” drop-point blade will lock securely into place until you slide the ambidextrous button on the handle to release it.

The integrated safety can be engaged in either the open or closed position for added security. And you can do it all with one hand for a faster response in any situation.

These comfortable, lightweight, ambidextrous knives are always ready for tough duty. The hollow ground drop point blade is crafted from premium-grade American made 154CM stainless steel to deliver tough, dependable, all-around performance and great corrosion resistance.

Valox reinforced resin handles provide a secure, comfortable grip and have 420J Stainless Steel liners for exceptional strength and rigidity. A reversible split arrow pocket clip lets you carry the knife on whichever side you prefer.

BENCHMADE FEATURES:

154CM: An American made premium grade stainless steel originally developed for tough industrial applications. Known for its best all-around qualities, it offers great corrosion resistance with good toughness and edge quality. HRC 58-60.

DROP-POINT BLADE: A slow convex-curved drop in the point lowers the point for control but adds strength to the tip. Usually coupled with plenty of belly for slicing, this format is often used for hunting knives. It is also a fantastic all-around blade format for tactical and utility applications. This blade shape can be found on a wide array of knives. It is available here with either a plain or partially serrated ComboEdge®.

VALOX® REINFORCED RESIN HANDLE: Provides excellent stiffness, strength and dimensional stability. Molded to form.

AXIS-Assist®: A patented Benchmade exclusive, the basic AXIS locking system has been turning heads and winning fans ever since its introduction. New AXIS-Assist adds another layer of speed and convenience gives you all of the advantages of an AXIS lock with the added speed and power of coil spring assisted opening.

A 100% ambidextrous design, AXIS gets its function from a small, hardened steel bar which rides forward and back in a slot machined into both steel liners. The bar extends to both sides of the knife, spanning the liners and positioned over the rear of the blade. It engages a ramped, tang portion of the knife blade when it is opened.

Two omega style springs, one on each liner, give the locking bar it’s inertia to engage the knife tang, and as a result the tang is wedged solidly between a sizable stop pin and the AXIS bar itself.

With the addition of AXIS-Assist, opening the blade is started with a flick of the thumb lug—just as you would begin to open an AXIS blade—but that’s as far as you have to go. Because the strong coil spring engages and maintains torque, snapping the blade securely into the fully open position. The safety can be engaged in either the open or closed position for added security. It can be disengaged with just one hand for a faster response.

Reversible Carry-Clip comes installed on the right side (or non-Benchmade logoed side of blade) of AXIS knife products for right side pocket carry. If you prefer to clip-carry the knife in the left side pocket, it is important that you remount the carry-clip on the other side of the knife handle. This is recommended for ideal access and optimum user safety.
