RIFLE SCOPES

Rifle scopes, an optical sighting devise based on a refracting telescope, are magnified optics with a reticle that offers the shooting an accurate aiming point. The magnification of a rifle scope is defined by its optical magnification and objective lens diameter. Most scopes have an optical magnification that can be adjusted within a defined range in order to suit specific light environments, distances, and targets. The field of view is always larger as the magnification is decreased. Reticles are built into the scope via two methods, wire reticles and etched reticles. Wire reticles are made of metal wire and are mounted in an optically appropriate position. Etched reticles are etched into an optical element and provide a much clearer image than wire reticles.
